Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board or TNIDB has decided to constitute a panel of consultants. This has been done to realize TN Vision 2023 and to implement proposed infrastructure projects.
In executing infrastructure projects plus in providing advisory assistance to the board, the panel of consultants would assist various government departments as well as agencies. This was brought out by an official. For the sake of providing assistance in 4 sectors such as transport, social infrastructure, water and sanitation etc, the panel would have 4 consultants.
The consultants who have experience and knowledge in the respective field would be empanelled. Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructural Financial Services Limited or TNUIFS is the nodal agency in TN to appoint consultants and to manage foreign funds. Now, TNIDB has invited eligible private consultants through the TNUIFS.
It is revealed that the panel would assist the projects that include both the project that is executed through the Public sector as well as those implemented through PPP or Private-Public Partnership.
Various activities of the consultants would be preparing feasibility reports for projects, conducting impact assessment studies, risk assessment studies as well as environmental assessment studies. Implementing agencies in the bidding process would also be assisted by the consultant panel.
It must not be forgotten that the TNIDC was set up by the government for faster identification and clearance of major projects with the view to implement the projects under Tamil Nadu Vision 2023.
Under the Vision 2023 the government had prioritized projects like roads, bridges, multi-level car parking etc.
