According to Mr. Rajendra Kumar, monitoring officer of special task team for Chennai zone, in another 1 week Chennai Corporation would finish screening of all the potential cases. By this, the spread of Covid-19 would be brought under control.
It is known that the state government has formed the special task team to monitor and ensure that contract tracing, sampling and testing were carried out effectively.
On Sunday, 12th April 2020 at the Ripon buildings in Chennai, the monitoring team for Chennai zone comprising of Mr. Rajendra Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Government, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise department and Mr. Abhash Kumar, ADGP, Economic Offences Wing, reviewed actions taken till now by the Chennai Corporation.
It was brought out by Mr. Rajendra Kumar that they have been working closely with the corporation to make sure that all the activities that are being done yield maximum impact on the field. In another week of time at the most, the Corporation would complete the screening of potential Corona virus cases and spread of pandemic would be controlled fully. It is important to note that the work has been going on to ensure all the potential cases get tested and appropriate steps have been taken.
Information collected is the talks between Mr. Rajendra Kumar and Mr. Abhash Kumar also centered towards enhancing contact tracing and case identification and the ways to strengthen medical and quarantine facilities. As many as 3036 cases of possible symptoms of Corona virus including cough and cold were identified from the door-t-door survey of Corporation.
