While it is being reviewed to extend the present lockdown condition further, at this stage, the central government is reviewing whether to divide the country into 3 color zones - red, orange, and green.

It is gathered that as per this plan, the ere will be strict control in the areas maximum affected by the coronavirus infection and the lockdown condition would be relaxed to a certain extent in other sections where the infection is not so severe.

As a main preventive measure against the spreading of the raging coronavirus pandemic, the lockdown imposition announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to conclude tomorrow (Tuesday, 14th April).

However, as the virus has been s[reading despite all the preventive activities, several states have insisted the Prime minister Narendra Modi extend the lockdown.

At the same time, without waiting for fort eh response from the central government, the states of Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal, Telangana, and Punjab have extended the lockdown until 30th April, by themselves.

Earlier, after the video conference review conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, information is gathered that the central government has taken a new decision.

As per this decision, instead of announcing the extension of lockdown throughout the country, there would be 3 sections formed in the country

The country would be divided into 3 color zones - Red, orange, and green.

The areas where they`re more than 15 cases of infection have been registered and more infections are probable will be declared as red region.

The area where less than 15 persons have been infected and no further infection is reported is declared as an orange region.

The area where no cases of the coronavirus infection have been reported is declared as a green zone.

Accordingly, lockdown will be implemented fully in the red zone. The public should not move out. Vehicles, offices, schools, colleges, and shops will not function. The shops selling essential items will be open at specified times.

Limited transport will be allowed to operate in the orange zone. Permission will be given for the transport of goods.

Though there would be no major blocks in the green zone, the ban will continue on organizing public programs/events and other occasions. Public transport will be available at a minimum level. Micro/mini/small industries will be allowed to function. Trains alalso will run in limited numbers. However, schools and colleges will remain closed. TASMAC shops will be allowed to open, but malls/supermarkets and hotels will not be allowed to open.

It is expected that the above details will be announced when the central government comes up with the next announcement regarding the lockdown or maybe, even earlier.

Action in Tamil Nadu State

As explained above, the state of Tamil Nadu also will be divided into 3 color zones - red, orange, and yellow.

As per this, the /districts where there are more than 20 infections will be red zone. The districts where there are 10 to 20 cases of infection will be declared as orange zone. Areas where there are less than 10 reported infections will be declared as yellow zone.

As per the present conditions, 17 districts in Tamil Nadu State have been declared as a red zone. 9 districts have been declared as orange zone. 8 districts have been declared as yellow zone.
