On the coronavirus pandemic status, as regards the state of Tamil Nadu, it is Chennai Metro City which is the maximum affected spot!

Day-before-yesterday (Tuesday, 28th April), on just a single day, 103 persons have been confirmed with coronavirus infection in Chennai Metro City alone!

In a similar vein, yesterday (Wednesday, 29th April), 94 persons have been confirmed as corona positive!

The Greater Chennai Corporation G.Prakash IAS., has observed that the dense population of Chennai is the main reason for fast-spreading coronavirus infection!

Why did Chennai continue to be the hotspot?

GCC Commissioner Prakash had a session with the press on the status of coronavirus prevention activities. He shared:

“In 6 zones identified in Chennai, - Tondiarpettai, Royapuram, Tiru. Vi. Ka. Nagar, Anna Nagar, Teynampettai, and Kodambakkam - the impact of coronavirus has been most intense. Out of this, there has been an impact of around 65% on the infection in especially 3 zones - Tondiarpettai, Royapuram, and Thiru.Vi. Ka. Nagar. To be more specific, the maximum impact of infection is in 6 wards in these 3 locations!

The main reason for the raging impact of coronavirus infection in the city is that the density of the population in major cities is far higher as compared to the rural areas.

So, extra focus has been given to these maximum affected areas where GCC personnel is monitoring the situation in a strict manner. Another noteworthy point is that around 90% of the coronavirus infected persons had no symptoms at all for suffering this infection!”
