Arterial road in North Chennai delayed due to Metro Water pipelines

The Ennore – Manali Road Improvement Project may take a longer time to complete owing to the delay in moving the water main line that runs beneath the Manali Oil Refinery Road (MORR). The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) said that lines that had not been moved have been damaged while the road was being constructed, thus affecting water supply to several areas.
“We are unable to widen the 5.6 km stretch of the road. We began work in January to add 12 metres of carriageway on either side, but this has been slowed down as the lines are in the way’, said a NHAI source.
