The department of the Religious Affairs of the State Government of Tamil |Nadu has released the guidelines for the pilgrims who undertake the journey from Tamil Nadu to Sabarimalai Lord Ayyappa temple.
As per the guidelines released by the Commissioner of the Hindu Religious Endowment, Prabhakar, the pilgrims visiting Lord Ayyappan Temple in Sabarimalai must register on the website: www.sabarimalaonline.org. Based on the principle- ‘first-come-first-served’, a maximum of 1000 persons can register on the weekends. A maximum of 2000persons can register on weekends. Fir the Darshan of Lord Sri Ayyappa in Sabarimalai, only those who had been tested for coronavirus and declared as without infection will be allowed to register.
For reasons of safety, those under the age of 10 and those above the age of 60 will not be permitted. Those devotees who possess the IDs for being ‘Belo the Poverty Line’, or Bharath ID card, must bring them along! No permission will be given for the devotees to stay at the places where ‘Ghee Abhishekham’, and bathing in the river ‘Pambai’, and the ‘Sannidhanam’ performed during night sessions. The devotees must undertake the pilgrimage only through the route via Yeruveli or Vadaserikkarai.”
