When it rains, it is bad time for suburban passengers

Major of the suburban stations of Chennai Division to do not have proper roofing, either it needs repair or there is no roofing at all. Passengers are put into lurch when there is a downpour of rains. The platforms become slippery and they are not able to sit in the seats on the platform because they are dampened. The Railway administration that is said to be giving much importance to passenger amenities has a deaf ear towards this. People have been registering their complaints but in vain.
Commuters alighting from suburban electric trains have to get down carefully, to avoid the sudden bursts of water from the pipes above.
Passengers from suburban sections Chennai Beach- Tambaram, Chennai Central- Tiruvallur and Chennai Central- Gummidipundi are requesting the Railways to take due steps to repair the broken roofs and construct roofs at the unavailable portions before the commencement of monsoons.
