Workshop on ‘Life in Streets’ for architecture students

A workshop on ‘Life in Streets’ for architecture students is being organized by DakshinaChitra from August 15 to 18. The workshop aims to help students observe and interpret our streets and neighborhoods differently. They will be taken on walking tours and asked to document their experiences as photographs, films, sketches, diary accounts, maps and interviews. There will be brain-storming sessions and discussions based on their observations. The faculty for the workshop are architect Pramod Balakrishnan, writer and entrepreneur Sriram V, architect Kiran Keswani, conservation architect Benny Kuriakose, A. Srivathsan, Senior Deputy Editor, The Hindu and independent photographer and visual journalist Vivek Muthuramalingam. The fee for the workshop is Rs.5000, inclusive of lodging and boarding at Dakshinachitra and Rs. 2000 for those who wish to attend the day programmes.
