An important piece of information for the school going students in Tamil Nadu now!!
Soon, the government of TN would come out with fresh or new standard operating procedures or SOP to be adopted at the schools including the private institutions etc. This would be mainly due to the flu virus infection that has been increasing every day.
On Monday 19th September 2022 alone, there were more than 1000 flu cases across Tamil Nadu and it included children also. They all have tested positive for AH1NI virus strain. This has made many to worry now.
In TN, several hospitals, clinics and PHC were full of patients as many thronged these to get treatment for the flu infection. In this scenario, the school education department has been coordinating with various health experts to analyse the safety aspects that could be adopted at the schools in the state.
The managements of all schools and private institutions have been instructed to advise the parents from sending their kids to the schools if the kids were diagnosed with fever or cold etc. This was according to a senior officer belonging to the school education department.
It is worthy to mention here that in the last few days the number of flu cases have increased in the districts belonging to Tamil Nadu. It is now revealed that the authorities belonging to the school education department have decided to follow fresh SOPs. Soon, they would be introducing social distancing in the classrooms to prevent the spreading of flu infection.
There are now no plans to declare holidays for the schools though the number of flu cases has increased drastically. As per the situation, the classes might be conducted on the shift basis for the school students in the state. Truth is that the school students have lost a lot of direct physical classes in the last 2 years due to the Coronavirus pandemic and they cannot afford to lose physical classes again due to flu infection now. The senior official concluded that declaring holidays would be the last option and it would be only for the lower class students.
