The University of Madras is set to revolutionize education with its new proposals for web-based learning and online course content.
In addition to web-based training, the university plans to develop infrastructure facilities for discussion forums through email, video conference, and live lectures via the web.
The Institute of Distance Education will also offer new courses in emerging areas such as B.Sc. Data Science and MBA Data Analytics in distance mode, starting from the coming academic year. Furthermore, the university has signed a five-year MoU with Keio University, Japan, and the RIKA Institute, India, to further cooperation in education and research activities. The state has also sanctioned Rs. 28.05 crore to construct a hostel building at the Marina campus for students, and the university has launched a new three-year Blended Course in Bachelor of Science in collaboration with Melbourne University.
