Heavy rain lashes in Chennai

There was sporadic rainfall in the southern districts of Tamilnadu because of an upper air cyclonic circulation over Sri Lanka and its neighbourhood. But there was no expected rain in the coastal areas of Tamilnadu. Yesterday it was very hot in Chennai during the day. At about 10.15 pm there was heavy rain with thunder and lightning. Motorists and pedestrians were put into a worst situation because of this. Some of the hoardings and banners fell down creating traffic congestion.
