1705 Vinayakar statues in Chennai – Strict and high level of safety measures

On Vinayakar chaturthi day which is coming on September 9th, 1705 vinayakar statues will be kept in various regions. Apart from this more than 5000 small statues are placed in several localities.
After a week, these statues will be taken in a procession and will be drowned in the sea. The procession will be happening on September 15th which will be headed by the leader Ram Gopalan . Some of the other groups are having processions on 14, 16 and 22nd.
To avoid any chaos during the procession, two meetings were held under the guidance of police commissioner. Nearly 10,000 policemen will guard all these processions to avoid confusions and chaos.
