From TODAY, implementation in the price reduction of the domestic cooking gas cylinder!!

From today, 30th August, 2023 onwards, the price reduction of Rs 200 for the cooking gas cylinders will come into effect.
It is well known that based on the price of the crude oil in the international market, cost of imports and the value of Indian rupee against the dollar etc, the confederation of oil companies fix the prices of petrol, diesel and gas cylinders etc. Here, the procedure of changing the prices of petrol and diesel daily and changing the price of the gas cylinder once a month are being followed.
In 2014, the BJP party came to power and since then the prices of petrol, diesel and gas cylinders have been on the rise. The cost of a cylinder in 2014 was Rs 414 and now it is Rs 1100. It must be noted that in Chennai the gas cylinder price is Rs 1118.50. This rise in the prices is unprecedented.
At present, every family has been paying between Rs 1150 to Rs 1200 for the cooking gas cylinders. This includes the amount that is given to the cylinder delivery persons too. This has impacted the lives of many poor and middle class people.
In this scenario, in Delhi yesterday, a Union Cabinet meeting took place under the chairmanship of . the PM of India Mr. Narendra Modi. It was decided that the price of the cooking gas cylinders would be reduced by Rs 200. Point is that this price reduction would also be applicable to those persons who have been getting gas cylinders under the Pradhan Manthri Ujjwala Yojana Scheme.
