Heavy rainfall has prompted the declaration of school holidays in multiple districts across Tamil Nadu. District magistrates in Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Dindigul, and Madurai have issued orders for school closures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that isolated heavy rainfall is expected to persist in Tamil Nadu from November 8 to 9, with a significant reduction in rainfall anticipated thereafter.
The regional meteorological center has forecast moderate thunderstorms with moderate rain in isolated areas of Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Kancheepuram, and Chengalpattu districts. Furthermore, there is a likelihood of light thunderstorms with light to moderate rain in isolated places in several other districts, including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Salem, Namakkal, Tenkan, Sivaganga, Madurai, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Tiruchirapalli, Karur, Tiruvannamalai, Ranipet, Kallakurichi, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, and Tiruvarur, as well as in Puducherry and Karaikal.
