The Aavin milk production in places like Sholinganallur, Madhavaram and Ambattur has become difficult due to the presence of stagnated water in these places. The management of Aavin has been taking steps so that there would be no shortage of Aavin milk in the rain affected areas.
In this situation, on 4th December, 20000 litres of milk packets were sent to Chennai from Salem based Aavin. On 5th December, 30000 litres of milk packets were sent to Chennai from Salem Aavin. Likewise yesterday on 6th December 30000 litres of milk packets were sent to Chennai.
The authorities of Aavin revealed that until the situation become s normal in Chennai and other 4 districts Aavin milk packets would be sent from Salem to Chennai.
It was brought out by some officers belonging to Salem Aavin that every day about 5.50lakh litres of milk is being procured and about 2.25litres of milk is being sold every day to meet the demands of locals. They mentioned that due to the heavy rains in Chennai milk packets are being sent to Chennai now. They concluded that in the last 3 days about 80000 milk packers were sent to Chennai.
