Hunt for illegal auto rickshaw drivers

The police officials took a sudden step in cracking down all auto rickshaw drivers who have not been holding the mandatory legal documents. 59 police officials got engaged in the hunt at 7 pm last night. Nearly 2,454 auto rickshaws were checked. Out of this, 129 drivers did not carry the essential papers.
When enquired to the additional commissioner of police – Karuna Sagar, he stated that about hundred such auto drivers protested the checking made by the police officials at Mandaveli. The drivers did not allow the police officials to carry out their job and surrounded them to show their protest.
