The construction of a state-of-the-art fish shop in Pattinpakkam, Chennai, is nearing completion, with a total investment of Rs.10 crore. This initiative, in response to concerns raised by the Madras High Court regarding traffic disruptions caused by existing fish shops along the loop road, aims to provide improved facilities for both fishermen and the public.
This modern fish shop, sanctioned by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and implemented by Municipal Administration Minister K.N. Nehru, boasts 366 shops, a perimeter wall, dedicated areas for fish cleaning, and a sewage treatment plant with a 40-kiloliter capacity. Additionally, the facility will provide drinking water for fishermen and the public, along with toilet facilities. The shop is expected to open soon, enhancing the overall experience for both the fishing community and patrons.
