The Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) has announced traffic diversions in Pulianthope from Saturday, June 15, to Monday, June 17, due to Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) work on Strahans Road.
Strahans Road will be fully blocked in both directions, and vehicles will be rerouted. Motorists can use New Ferrance Road and Chellappa Street as alternative routes. Local residents can utilize interior roads such as New Ferrance Road, Chellappa Street, Avadhanapappaiya Road, Subba Street, Rangiah Street, Astbujam Road, Vadamalai Street, Thana Street, Mooku Street, and Manickam Street.
For commercial vehicles from Central/Choolai heading to Perambur/Madhavaram, heavy vehicles will be diverted via Raja Muthaiaya Salai, Choolai Roundtana, Basin-Elephant Gate Road, Basin Power Road, B.B. Top, Erukkanchery High Road, Vysarpadi New Bridge, GNT Road, and Moolakadai. Vehicles from Doveton to Madhavaram should take Hunters Road, Choolai High Road, Basin Power Road, B.B. Top, Erukkanchery High Road, Vysarpadi New Bridge, GNT Road, and Moolakadai.
MTC buses and other vehicles from Ayanavaram to Mint will be rerouted via Otteri Bridge, Cooks Road, Mettupalayam Junction, Stephenson Road, Dr. Ambedkar College Road, Pulianthope High Road, Gandhi Nagar Roundtana, Basin Power Road, and B.B. Top.
Additional alternative routes have been assigned for Perambur-Mint, Ayanavaram-Doveton, Perambur-Doveton, Ayanavaram-Chennai Central/Broadway, and Perambur-Chennai Central routes.
