Food Supply Commissioner Har Sahay Meena has announced holidays for Fair Price Shops on June 15 and July 20. This decision comes in light of the registration schedule for the Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme during these dates.
Last September, the Kalaingar Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme was launched in Tamil Nadu to provide Rs. 1000 per month to heads of households. Special camps were set up at fair price shops in July and August last year for scheme enrollment. These camps involved distributing applications and conducting registrations, which were Aadhaar-based and utilized fingerprint enrollment machines available at these shops.
Similar holidays were observed last year on July 23rd and August 4th for special camp operations, where the Food Supply Commissioner had also granted leaves accordingly.
Now, instead of those specific days from last year, June 15th and July 20th, both Saturdays, have been designated as holidays for fair price shops, as per the directive of Food Supply Commissioner Har Sahay Meena.
