R. Mohan, the Managing Director of Rapid Transport Corporation, has announced plans to address the increased travel demand during the upcoming weekend from June 21st to 23rd, coinciding with the Full Moon. To manage this surge, 1,435 special buses will be deployed.
From Kilambakkam in Chennai, 1,010 buses will depart to various key destinations across Tamil Nadu such as Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur on June 21st and 22nd.
In addition, there will be 135 buses running from Chennai and Coimbatore to destinations like Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru. Furthermore, 200 special buses will connect Bengaluru, Tiruppur, Erode, and Coimbatore to various places.
To enhance passenger comfort, the Government Rapid Transport Corporation will offer air-conditioned 30-seater and sleeper buses with booking options to Tiruvannamalai from Chennai, Madurai, Salem, Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruppur, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Tenkasi, Thoothukudi, and Bengaluru on June 21st.
Additionally, there will be 30 buses operating from Chennai`s Koyambedu Bus Stand to Tiruvannamalai on June 21st and 22nd.
In total, 1,435 special buses will be in service on June 21st to accommodate the surge of travelers during the Pournami celebration. This includes 30 buses specifically from Chennai`s Madhavaram Bus Stand to Tiruvannamalai.
