Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s conference with Collectors and Police officers commences today

The conference of the Collectors and Police Officers would be held at the Namakkal Kavignar Maligai at the Secretariat on December 11. On December 12 and 13, the Chief Minister will be chairing the meetings of the Collectors and police officials separately.
 
During the three-day conference, law and order situation in the State, internal security and progress of various welfare schemes being implemented by the State government would be deliberated in detail. During the last meeting held in November 2011, the Chief Minister made 77 announcements regarding infrastructure facilities and general needs of the public based on the suggestions of the participants.
 
Similarly, during the meeting of Collectors and police officials held from December 17, 2012, the Chief Minister presented a sort of a supplementary budget at the end of intense deliberations, by making 343 announcements relating to the basic amenities and other departments including Agriculture, Public Works, Tourism, Health, Police, Power, Industry, HR and CE, Social Welfare, Fisheries and Education.
 
Significantly, this year’s conference is taking place ahead of the visit of the 14th Finance Commission to Tamil Nadu  scheduled for December 16
