The Chennai Corporation has been passed a promise during the council meeting to introduce eight new advanced vehicles to catch the stray cattle’s. The vehicles, has been bought out for this purpose cost Rs 1.18 Crore. An advanced feature that has been included in the new vehicles is that they are fitted with hydraulic lifts for loading the cattle onto the vehicle without the use of leash or other painful methods. Since the vehicle is closed, it will provide comfortable transport of the cattle.
Councilors added that, the vehicles should be
in rounds not only at the time of complaints in spite it should be active all
the time. And also the cattle are taken up with ultimate care, as previously
many complains are received from Blue cross for it improper treatment of
cattle. Many received complaints from residents were that the cattle that were
seized were not taken care of properly.
On top of it, the mayor assured that the suggestions and complaints would be taken into consideration. During the meeting, the Chennai Mayor Saidai Duraisamy added that the significance of being giving the free mosquito net scheme over general mitigation measures.
