Koyampedu – Ashok Nagar – Metro rail Test Run will continue for the next few days

Chennai Metro Rail Project, at the cost of Rs. 14,600 Crores is under progress. The coaches are manufactured in Brazil.
The first track is between Washermanpet and Airport. The second track is between Central Station and St. Thomas Mount.
There will be an elevated section as well as underground section. Underground stations are under construction. 8 underground stations have been completed and the huge equipment is being shifted to the next site.
The elevated section between Koyampedu and Ashok Nagar is almost complete. The stations are under construction in full swing. The Metro Rail administration successfully conducted the test run between Koyampedu and the depot over the last 20 days. .
In the next stage, test run has begun between Koyampedu and Ashok Nagar. The trains were run at lower speed and the track response and conditions were inspected. The test run will continue for the next few days. The 6 km test run has been declared successful. Test run will be undertaken for the other trains.
