Focusing on the inclusive growth in the banking sector, each and every old bank branches ought to facilitate the ATM provisions by the end of March this year, stated by Union Minister of State for Finance, Namo Narayanan Meena.
During the inauguration of the Regional Office
of Dena Bank, Meena said that ‘Every new bank is now facilitating the ATM
Provision for the ease of the public’. Also the ATM provision should not only be
available on the office site, but also it should get opened in many public demanding
areas like colleges, universities, malls and markets.
Financial empowerment, infrastructure
enhancements and spreading out of banking sector will resolve poverty and heal
India.
During 1969, when former Prime Minister Indira
Gandhi had nationalized the bank, there were about 8500 bank branches. But now
the count has mounted up to one lakh.
During the inauguration function, Dena Bank CMD
Ashwani Kumar stated that nearly about ten new branches have been opened during
2013-14 and count will mount to 15 for the next fiscal year and this includes
25% in rural areas.
With its new branch opened in London, Dena
Bank’s business was at Rs. 1, 65, 976 Crores as on 31 December, 2013.
