Remember the 80’s period of Mullum malarum and Udhiri pookkal? Those are epic movies worth remembering throughout. The director-composer duo – Mahendran-Ilayaraja is back to work on a new film. If things go on well, this will be the very first film in the digital version by the director. “In all my films, Ilayaraja will be an integral part. His music will have its own importance in the film”, said the veteran film maker.
Speaking about the new project, the director gave a hint that the script is based on short story of Pudhumai Pithan. However, it is not a complete adaption of the story, but an inspiration of it. It is about the problems revolving around middle-class families. The script is based on flavors of Coimbatore, but while watching the movie, one would realize that the happenings in the film are universal.
The director has planned to make use of new faces for the film, except one or two senior artists. Veteran cinematographer, B.Loganathan’s son B.Sanjay will handle the camera and editing will be by Kasi Viswanathan. The shoot will commence by March beginning and end within the month ends! Release is expected by May.
