Driving Licence to be cancelled for getting caught - phone while driving

Police have been warning about avoiding talking on the cell-phone while driving.

Apaert from the 2-wheeler drivers, even drivers of cars, vans, and buses indulge in talking on the cell-phone while driving. This leads to accidents and avoidable loss of lives.

Awareness to avoid this has been intensively taken up by the police. Still, this habit has persisted.

The police have been warning and penalizing the offenders regularly. Still, it has not reduced. Hence, police have decided on the next stage:

50 motor-bike drivers have been given warning notice for talking on cell-phone while driving. Action has been taken on 143  2-wheeler drivers all over Tamil Nadu.

Some drivers hide the cell-phones in their helmets and continue talking while driving. Some have attached ear-phones.

The police have started checking inside the helmets.

In the next stage severe acton will be taken on the offenders. While being caught the first time, notice is being given. If they get caught second time, the licence will be canceled.

Even listening to music while driving is not advisable.

This habit is a high risk as it can lead to accidents.
