Central governments new policy: Minimum monthly wages of Rs. 9000/- for house servants

Central government has made a policy decision regarding house servants that their minimum monthly wages should be fixed at Rs. 9000/- apart from other facilities.
The policy covers conditions like secure environment in the work-place, 14 days` leave with pay, maternity leave, etc.
The draft policy has been prepared by Central Labour Welfare Department and forwarded to Central Labour Minister Mr. Bandaru Dattathreya.
The minister informed that the draft policy has been prepared on the basis of international Labour federation`s rules and regulations and will shortly be sent to the central cabinet for approval.
The draft also includes a provision compelling the employer to set aside a certain amount of money for the security of their house servants.
