Special camp tomorrow (12th Dec) for food traders to get licence

In order to facilitate the Food Traders to get their Licence for trading in a simple and easy procedure, a special camp is being organised tomorrow (Tuesday, 12th December) on behalf of the Department for Food Safety at Chennai Triplicane.
As per the Food Safety Act, it is mandatory for the Food Traders to obtain licence and registration certificate. So, a special camp is being organised for the food traders to obtain their licences and registration certificate on behalf of the Chennai district food safety department tomorrow, 12th December.
The camp is organised at the Triplicane Ra Munni Eswaran Building located near the Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam from 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM.
Hotel owners, meat-selling shop owners, pavement food shop owners, fruit shop owners, and tea shop owners can participate and obtain the licence.
An official from the district department of food safety explained that food traders doing a trade of less than Rs. 12 Lakhs in a year will have to pay a fee of Rs. 100 and obtain the licence. The establishments which trade for more than Rs 12 Lakhs will have to apply paying a fee of Rs. 2000.
This fee is valid for 1 year. The licence can be obtained by paying the required fee for up to 5 years.
