The Central government informed the official announcement of implementing e-way bill for states to move goods on the Intra-state basis, taxing formalities under Rule 138A(5) of CGST/SGST Rules, 2017, applied for both central and state governments of India.
The Minister of State for Finance, Shiv Pratap Shukla reported the e-way billing format should have completed before June 1, as refereed by the Goods and Service Tax (GST) council.
According to the reports of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley after the 25th GST council meeting, the e-way billing system will be commenced on from the month of Februrary 1. Initially this process would be done as a trail version for fifteen states that agreed already for e-way bill system.
On the contrary the e-way system is heavily criticized for some of the serious glitches and bugs in the overall server-database process, considering it to be still on a developing and testing phase.
