Traffic in Chennai city is very high and many people using their vehicles violate the traffic rules is known. Now the people in Chennai city would be surprised by this piece of news.Cashless payment system was launched by the traffic police in Chennai. The main objective is to help those traffic violators to pay these fines without any problems.

It is now said that the traffic violators need not pay their fine amount to the traffic police personnel directly. One important point is if the traffic violators pay their fine amount to the traffic police personnel then it would be considered as a bribe.

Mr. A.K. Viswanathan, Chennai city police commissioner, expressed his views and said this system was launched to help the traffic violators to pay their fines without any hassles. He then spoke about how people could also go to mobile courts to pay their fines and it is their choice.

He further explained in detail regarding how the money given by the traffic violators to the police personnel would be considered as bribe amount. He threw light on the fact that legal action would be taken against those traffic violators who give this bribe amount and those traffic police personnel who receive this bribe amount.

There were many clashes between the traffic violators and traffic police personnel regarding the payment of fines in the past. To solve this issue the cashless payment system was launched.

Instant payment of fines for violating the rules is not a must now. A cop having swiping machine could be approached and then the traffic violators could pay their fines.
