Cyclone Sagar would not affect the weather in the state of Tamil Nadu

Just when people in the state of Tamil Nadu are worried about the cyclone Sagar, the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai has come out with an important piece of news now.

It is now said that this cyclone ’Sagar’ would not be affecting the weather in Tamil Nadu and this was confirmed by the officials belonging to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai.

Earlier IMD or Indian Meteorological Department grabbed many eyeballs when it issued a warning stating that cyclone ‘Sagar’ over the Gulf of Aden would move further west-southwards with 16kmph speed. IMD also said that this ‘Sagar’ would lie centred over the Gulf of Aden about 120km east-south east of Yemen or Aden and 900km west-southwest of Socotra islands. From 19th of May this storm would weaken gradually after moving to west-south westward direction. On Saturday, 19th of May there would be winds blowing at speeds of 65-75kmph that would rise to 85kmph in the noon.

Mr. S. Balachandran who is Director of Area Cyclone Warning Centre in Chennai revealed that it was just a precautionary measure. He further spoke about how the coasts in TN are safe with no signs of cyclonic effect. The temperature would be normal and the sky would be cloudy with few drizzles on the outskirts was also confirmed by Mr. Balachandran.

Popular weather blogger, Mr. Pradeep John spoke about how the prediction by the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai is correct. He further spoke about how IMD has not warned against venturing off Indian Coast or southeast Arabian Sea. He finally spoke about how this ‘Sagar’ would still be forceful with speeds touching 100kmph. In the next 48 hours in Tamil Nadu the upper air circulation along the southwest coast would bring good amounts of rain.
