It is important to note that there were record sales in organic jams, squash and pickles got from Coonoor and flower bouquets from Krishnagiri district since the month of April 2018. This has made the Tamil Nadu Horticultural Development Agency to add vegetables also to the sales counters.

According to a Mr. Hameed a horticultural officer, these products are mostly sold in Nilgris and people who come to this Semmozhi Poonga for regular walks show superb liking for these products and they get sold very fast.

Mixed fruits plus pear, apple, pineapple jams, nutmeg jelly etc are available at the sales counter. The temperature in Chennai also made it possible for the quick selling of items like pineapple, strawberry, grape squash etc. Many visitors purchase jams and jellies and these products are sold for Rs 80 to Rs 180. The visitors also show special liking for squash bottle and it costs Rs 150 to Rs 180. Setting up of a vegetable mart would be superb and this was said by many customers.

This made the authorities to bring in vegetables and in the month of June organic vegetables would be available here on trial basis. A senior official belonging to the department of horticulture expressed his views and spoke about how vegetables would be brought from Dindugul.  He then spoke about how exotic types of vegetables from other places would also be available in this Semmozhi Poonga in Chennai.
