Southwest monsoon rainy season starts

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that the southwest monsoon rainy season has commenced in the south Andaman and Nicobar Island regions.
The rain started yesterday (Friday, 25th May) in the above regions. A conducive environment prevails where this monsoon rain should spread and commence in a few regions of South Arabian Sea, Kanyakumari ocean, and a few areas in the South Bay of Bengal.
With the onset of the southwest monsoon rainy season, there may be very strong winds blowing across in the coastal areas of Kanyakumari, Kerala, and Karnataka. The seas will be stormy. So, the fishermen in the areas of Kanyakumari ocean, south Lakhdiv, Karnataka, and Kerala are strictly advised not to venture into the sea.
In the next 2 days, there are prospects of summer rain with thunder in several interior districts of South Tamil Nadu and a few areas in the North Tamil Nadu.
The Chennai Metro City will remain partly cloudy.
