The Reserve Bank of India is all set to release the new currency notes of Rs. 100. An official of the RBI explained in this regard that the activities have been initiated for the printing of the new currency notes of Rs. 100 in the printing press located in the city of Dewas in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Printed in light purple colour, the new currency note of Rs. 100 is slightly larger than the present Rs. 100 notes in circulation. A picture of the world-famous Rani stepped-water-well, located on the shores of the river Saraswathi and built during the 11th Century AD, in the state of Gujarat is printed on one side.

Though the new set of currency notes of Rs. 100 will be soon in circulation, the old currency notes of Rs. 100 will also be valid and will be in circulation. The new currency note of Rs. 100 is slated to be released at the beginning of the next month.

It may be recalled that the new Rs. 200 currency notes were printed only at Dewas during the period of demonetization.
