The central ministry of Finance has informed that the procedure to reclaim GST has been simplified. It has specifically mentioned that the complaints regarding the difficulties in reclaiming GST have been analysed and corrective actions have been taken. The details of the report:

The procedure to reclaim GST has been simplified. As per the revised procedure, it is now sufficient to submit only the duly filled GSTR-2A form instead of submitting the entire procurement documents.

The GSTR-2A format automatically registers the data whenever an industry buys materials from its suppliers.

The Tax department officials explained in this regard that if the claims as per the GSTR form 2A are checked and found to be right, the claimant will be credited with the same. Further, the concerned officials will send a detailed reply to the claimant.

If the suppliers had not submitted GSTR-1A forms duly filled or else make a delayed submission of the same, the GSTR-22A form will not carry all the requisite receipt details. It is also mentioned that in case there are arrears payments, the Tax department will explain regarding the same/

In this situation, the ministry has explained that the concerned officials will make telephone calls to the concerned persons and check the details of the GST receipts.

The people from the industry and trading sectors have complained that they experienced hardships in reclaiming GST and they had to incur additional expenses. Further, they had complained that there is the difficulty to furnish more receipts. Accordingly, the central government has mentioned that it is just sufficient to submit the GSTR-2A form as per the stipulated time to reclaim GST.
