Vendakkai MorKuzhambu

Vendakkai MorKuzhambu, easy recipe which takes very less time and turns out very tasty.

Ingredients

  • Vendakkai (Lady’s Finger) - 100 grm
  • Curd - 2 cups
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli 2 nos.
  • Curry Leaves - few
  • Salt - as required
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Asafoetida powder - ¼ tsp
  • Coriander leaves

For Grinding

  • Shallots (Chinna Vengayam) - 7 nos
  • Green Chilli - 2
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Garlic - 5 cloves
  • Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
  • Coconut grated - 3 tbsp
  • Water - little
Method

  • Wash the Lady’s finger and cut it into small pieces.
  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and saute the Lady’s finger until it becomes soft.
  • Add a pinch of salt and keep it aside.
  • Grind all the ingredients with little water (Shallots, Green chilli, Cumin seeds, Garlic, Turmeric powder, Coconut) into smooth paste.
  • Add ground masala to beaten curd, mix well and check salt.
  • Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan, add Mustard seeds, cumin seeds, Red chilli and curry leaves, hing.
  • Now add sauteed lady’s finger, ground masala and curd mixture, stir well.
  • Cook with medium low flame. 
  • When it starts to boil, turn off the flame.



  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot with rice.
