The easterly wave might give KTC only stray rains here and there at max. We can say monsoon is almost is over for KTC and one of the worst and disappointing monsoon.
Rains for next 2-3 days: The easterly wave will give rains to Nagai, Karaikkal, Thiruvarur, Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi belt. There is chance for heavy rains in parts of Ramanathapuram district such as Rameshwaram, Mandapam and Pamban belts. Nearby district such as Sivaganga, Thanjavur, Madurai, Pudukottai, Kanyakumari and Virudhunagar wil see some odd rains too.
Both Chennai and Tamil Nadu will end the 2018 season on deficient note: After this two-three days spell even for Tamil Nadu the monsoon is coming to end with nothing significant seen. Chennai will end December 31st with one of the historic low rainfall. See the table. IMD expected 112% of rains. Even i expected this to be an excess rains. But too much cyclones (Titli, Luban, Gaja and Phethai) spoiled the sport and the gaps between rains are too much. The good news was all dams in western Ghats were filled up from the south west monsoon.
