Traffic congestion due to multiplexes, shopping complexes in Chennai

The Chennai city is a metropolitan city with huge population. In the recent times many multiplexes and other shopping complexes have come up in Chennai and these have been attracting many visitors. The Chennai city police have been doing its best to keep an eye on the roads in Chennai and corporation has been playing its part by initiating new flyovers etc. The truth is at some important intersections in Chennai city, the traffic congestion is frustrating the motorists now. It is brought out that these new multiplexes and shopping complexes launched in Chennai have neglected to manage the huge number of vehicles swarming them.
Traffic congestion takes place because the cab and auto drivers park their vehicles alongside the shopping malls and this has been due to absence of proper parking facilities. It was pointed out that various stretches like 100ft road in Vadapalani, Whites Road, Mount Poonamallee High Road in Porur, GST Road in Chromepet, Jawaharlal Nehru road Road in Thirumangalam and Royapettah Tower clock etc are highly congested in the peak hours. The reason cited for this heavy traffic congestion was due to the presence of shopping malls in the neighbourhood areas and motorists find it difficult in this traffic congestion. The piece of news is even the ambulances find it difficult to get through from the hospital located in the vicinity of these shopping malls and multiplexes etc.
A regular commuter from Thirumangalam expressed his thoughts and spoke about how lack of parking facilities and one way route related problems worsen the traffic as there are no dividers. It is worthy to note that there are no signals at these junctions and it takes 20 minutes to pass these shopping complexes. The main reason for the heavy traffic congestion was due to unruly parking of cabs and autos outside these complexes and despite the actions taken by the police and mall security, the cab and auto drivers pick and drop their passengers in front of these shopping malls.
According to the authorities belonging to the multiplexes it is clear that the facilities were made accordingly by taking into account the picking and dropping of the customers.
