Scheme to issue gas cards for the supply of LPG cooking gas cylinders

The oil corporations have come up with a scheme of distributing gas cards as a measure to eliminate the customers gas book, receipts, and other related papers.
The public sector oil corporations undertake the responsibility to supply the LPG gas cylinders both for domestic and commercial use. As a measure to eliminate/reduce papers such as gas books, receipts, etc., a new scheme has been introduced. Accordingly, the customers will be distributing ‘Gas cards’ which is just like the bank ATM cards. This card will carry the details of customers` numbers and other details.
The gas agency personnel explained:
‘If the customer hands over this digital card to the person who delivers the LPG cooking gas cylinder, they will use their mobile or the swiping card system and confirm the delivery of cylinder online. Payments can be made as usual.
This would ensure the cylinders are supplied only to the right and eligible customers.’
