An increase in the toll-gate charges has been implemented in 20 toll-gates in the state of Tamil Nadu from 1st September!
National Highways over 5000 km long have been paved in the state of Tamil Nadu.
48 toll-gates have been set up all over the above highways to collect the toll-gate charges from the vehicle drivers who pass these roads.
It may be noted that the facilities required for the vehicle drivers along these national highways and in the toll-gate stations are yet to be made available. Apart from this, the roads also remain damages in several places!
There are no electric lights in many of the highways/roads. This leads to more number of accidents in the national Highways! However, no initiatives/actions have been taken so far to prevent/reduce this! However, the national Highways Commission has been approving the increase in the toll-gate charges every year.
During April this year (2019), toll-gate charges were revised upwards in over 23 toll-gates. Presently, an increased toll-gate charge has been implemented in 20 toll-gates from 1st September.
