The cleaning activity that was conducted at the famous Pattinapakkam beach has taken many by surprise now. The volunteers while cleaning the beach have collected liquor bottles, pharmaceutical products etc. It must be noted that 25percent of garbage was plastic waste here. Not only human lives would get affected by the plastic waste, but also the marine lives and wildlifes etc.
It has been mentioned by the statistical data that by the year 2050 there would be more plastic waste under the sea than fish. The volunteers of the cleaning activity here have identified cough syrup bottles and medicines etc.
Brand Audit:
It is learnt that the brad audit conducted by the volunteers at the Pattinapakkam beach have collected about 11khs of garbage. Point is that about 25% of waste collected was plastic bottles and rubbers and 15% of waste was cigarette butts, lighters, cigars, tobacco products. There were also others like shampoo covers, water bottles, biscuit packet covers etc.
According to the volunteers, the presence of many syrup bottles and wine bottles at the beach were surprising. They spoke about how the public consumes drugs at the beach. It is now revealed that by year 2040 the plastic use would be reduced by 75% in this beach.
