In a proactive move to alleviate traffic congestion, the Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) has initiated a trial traffic alteration on Taylor`s Road in Kilpauk. The trial period, effective from Sunday, will last for a week until February 10. As part of the temporary diversion, vehicles heading towards Koyambedu and Poonamallee from Taylor`s Road are now required to make a left turn for 100 meters, followed by a U-turn at Ega Junction to continue their journey.
The objective behind this strategic diversion is to assess traffic flow and congestion density, according to an official release. The GCTP emphasizes that such modifications are crucial for monitoring and enhancing overall traffic conditions. Notably, the traffic adjustments are implemented after careful consideration of major congestion areas, and previous modifications by the GCTP have proven to be successful in optimizing traffic management.
