Importance of intake of vegetables having edible plant grown underground

The answer is these vegetables belong to the category of root vegetables and in these vegetables the roots of plants are used as vegetables. These root vegetables have their edible plant grown under the ground and they are delicious to taste. By intake of these vegetables our health would be superb. It is superb to mention here that each kind of root vegetable has got set of distinct nutrients.

These below mentioned root vegetables must be consumed by us for our health to be good.

Intake of turnips:

The presence of vitamin C along with potassium, manganese and fibre makes turnip an amazing root vegetable. The turnips belongs to cruciferous vegetables family is well known. Intake of turnips is essential for us as turnips could help us in preventing cancer. Regular intake of turnip could keep our bones healthy. Cardiovascular diseases are prevented by consuming turnips.

Intake of onions:

Dishes taste superbly by the presence of onion and onion is one famous type of root vegetable that is used widely in India. The vitamin C, antioxidants plus fibres in onion make onion a must to be consumed vegetable. Protection of cells against oxidative damage due to free radicals in us is achieved by the intake of onions. Our blood sugar levels get regulated by intake of onions.

Intake of gingers:

It is known that ginger has got gingerol having powerful medicinal properties. This is another root vegetable that must be eaten by us for our health. Intake of ginger could reduce nausea and morning sickness during pregnancy plus it also lowers menstrual pain. Intake of ginger is superb for those having osteoarthritis issue in them.

Intake of potatoes:

There is no one who doesn’t like eating potatoes. This highly preferred root vegetable has got rich amounts of vitamin C, potassium, fibre and vitamin B6 etc. Intake of potatoes could improve blood sugar control plus it could improve our digestive health in us. One important point is intake of potatoes could help in weight loss as it is highly filling and curbs hunger.

Intake of sweet potatoes:

Rich in fibre, vitamin C, A, antioxidants like beta carotene plus in iron, calcium, selenium etc, sweet potatoes must be consumed atleast twice a week. Consumption of sweet potatoes could lower the blood sugar levels in us. The vitamin A in sweet potato could improve our vision and boosts the immune power. Sweet potatoes are anti-inflammatory.

Intake of beetroots:

It is said that beetroots are one of the healthiest vegetable present in this world and must be consumed for our health to be superb. Apart from providing strength, beetroot intake could help in digestion plus in lowering BP, preventing cancer etc. Beetroot has high amounts of manganese, fibre and folate in them. Heart health would be improved by the nitrates in beetroot as nitrates play an important role in the dilation of blood vessels.

Intake of carrots:

Carrot has got beta carotene plus vitamin K, potassium and other antioxidants in them. They also belong to root vegetables category. InIntake of carrot could help in controlling cholesterol levels in us. Issues such as age related macular degeneration could be prevented by consuming carrots.

Intake of radish:

Radish have got vitamin C, fibre etc plus low carbohydrates and calories is well known. The anti-fungal properties of radish are superb. Stomach ulcers could be treated by intake of radish. It is superb to note that intake of radish could control our blood pressure. The anthocyanin in radish does superbly in making the heart to function properly. Many cardiovascular diseases are avoided in us.
