Important details regarding the various signs of a brain stroke & treatment etc, take care!!

Sometimes in some persons, the supply of blood to the parts of the brain would be interrupted or reduced and these persons would suffer from brain stroke.

Here, the brain tissue would be prevented from getting the oxygen supply. It is important to note that when a person suffers from brain stroke then quick recognition of symptoms and prompt treatment must be carried out.

There are several signs of brain strokes.

Weakness and numbness:
Some people might feel weak all of a sudden and this must not be taken casually or ignored. Truth is that emergency services must be called immediately when a person becomes numb on one side of the face or in one arm or in one leg etc.

Loss of hand eye coordination, vision loss  etc:
Those persons who suffer from brain strokes might have random loss of vision. Other symptoms include having no or little sensation, blurry speech, finding trouble in understanding the  directions or speech etc. When a person complains of sudden dim vision in one eye, then he or she must consult a doctor immediately.

Unexplained falls:
Point is that when someone falls suddenly or trips due to balance loss it might be something serious due to brain stroke etc. There are also possibilities of persons experiencing hiccups or trouble in swallowing etc indicating strokes .

Severe headaches:
It is true that headaches can be due to several reasons like stress etc. Sometimes, persons might get cluster headaches with no other reason in sight. This must be considered seriously and must not be taken lightly. After getting a severe headache, some people pass out quickly. Fainting must not be ignored.

Seizures:
Seizure is termed as a sudden uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain. It is worthy to note that seizures can lead to changes in the behaviour, feelings, movements of a person.

What we must do with person with brain strokes:
Medical experts use the term `FAST` for recognising the signs of stroke and the activity that needs to be done for treatment.

Common symptoms of strokes could be checked by us or by others with the help of a FAST test. 

F-FACE:
By asking the affected person to smile and check if he or she is able to smile without any face drooping.

A-ARMS:
By asking the stroke affected person to raise his both arms and check if one of the arms become weak or sags etc

S-SPEECH:
By asking the stroke affected persons to say something or read and then checking if he or she has slurred speech etc.

T-TIME:
If the answer to any of those mentioned above is yes then time counts. The person affected with strokes must be taken for treatment immediately.

Note:
It is important to note that while treating strokes, time is a very essential factor. It is better to call an ambulance. Truth is that the medical staff of the hospital would be able to judge the patient`s condition faster. Clot busting drugs would be prescribed by the doctors within 3 hours of beginning of the symptoms.
