If you consume alcohol frequently then you might get this serious health issue!!

Caused by different types of liver related issues like hepatitis, alcohol consumption etc, liver cirrhosis is scarring of the liver. It must be noted that the scarred tissue replaces the healthy tissue in the liver and this would make the liver ineffective.

It is well known to us that the liver is one of the most important organs in our body and it performs various functions such as toxin removal, producing enzymes for food digestion, storing sugar, fighting infections etc. Any injury to the liver would lead to healthy live cells getting inflamed and finally they would die. This is followed by a cell repairing process that would result in scarring of tissues. Point to be noted is that accumulation of scarred tissues would lead to liver cirrhosis.

These persons could get liver cirrhosis when compared to others and they are persons with uncontrolled diabetes, persons who consumes alcohol often, those with viral hepatitis, persons who are obese etc. It is worthy to mention here that the life span for a person with liver cirrhosis is more than 12 years with no major complications.

Important signs or liver cirrhosis are

Easy bleeding or bruising:

With the help of vitamin K, our liver produces a protein that would lead to blood clotting in us. Old or damaged blood cells get broken down by the liver. It is revealed that when the liver gets injured then it would not produce enough protein for blood clotting. This would lead to easy bleeding.

Yellow eyes/skin colour:

When high levels of bilirubin (yellow-orange bile pigment secreted by liver) is produced by the liver then skin and eyes could become yellowish in colour. This condition is called jaundice. The amount of bile in us would not get regulated if the liver gets injured resulting in this condition.

Arms and legs swell:

Decreased production of protein albumin could lead to swelling of arms and legs. Point is that this protein would keep the blood from leaking out of the blood vessels into the surrounding tissues. Fluids start accumulating in the blood vessels due to fewer proteins.

Fluid accumulation in abdomen:

The stomach would look swollen and this could be due to the accumulation of fluids in the stomach. This would be seen in those with chronic liver disease.

Unexpected weight loss:<:

This is also one important sign for liver cirrhosis issues. This should be treated immediately and be casual.
