If you want to escape from the summer diseases and associated skin problems, you must avoid eating chicken and mutton.
With change in climate, monsoon rains failed in Tamil Nadu. Because of this, summer has been quite severe from the start. Temperature has crossed 100 degrees Celsius in cities like Chennai, Vellore, & Trichy for a scorching summer.
Once the severe part of the summer, ‘Agni Nakshatram’ starts, the negative effects of summer will be even more affecting the body health & the skin.
When going out, excess sweating creates bad smelling body odour. Prickly heat, small and medium boils or polyps, itching, and other skin problems appear. There are even possibilities of attack of small pox. Direct exposure to the sunlight tends to darken the skin.
To reduce these summer effects, we should drink lots of water, juices, etc. We have to increase the quaintly of vegetables in food intake. Chicken & mutton must be avoided. Fish is OK! It is best to wear cotton cloths. This would help reduce the excessive perspiration during summer.
Children are affected more in summer as compared to elders. So, when taking young children below 5 years of age, take care to cover them properly to avoid direct sunlight exposure. Do not put on too many dresses, especially for the infants.
