A study conducted by the McGill University in Canada shows that expectant fathers also feel the baby blues. The study was funded by the CIHR (Canadian Institutes of Health Research).

The researchers found that fathers, while feeling joy at the initial news of the pregnancy, feel worried and sad later on. 622 men in the Quebec area participated in the study, which was conducted over 18 months.  The participants answered online questionnaires. The questionnaires measured mood, physical activity, sleep quality, social support, marital adjustment, financial stress and demographics. These were during the pregnancy`s third trimester. The results showed that almost 13% of the fathers who were expecting for the first time felt depressed during the pregnancy.
