Also called as Java Plum, Portugese Plum, Malabar Plum and Jambolan this Jamun or black plum is a slow growing tropical tree present mostly in the subcontinent. People often get confused between this black plum and blackberry due to its black colour. It is superb to note that this fruit when young is green in colour but its colour gets changed to black once it matures.
