A mobile app has been introduced by the Chennai Metro Rail. This gives the details of how to recharge the card, the fares and the routes, the nearest bus stand, etc.
Subsequent to the concessional offer of 40 percent given by the Chennai Metro Rail in order to attract more passengers, over 2 lakh passengers have travelled in the Chennai Metro underground section.
A rehearsal was conducted yesterday (Friday, 19th May) before the inauguration of the 50-metre long giant subway linking the Park town station and the Chennai Central Railway Station.
The Metro Rail Project underground section between Thirumangalam and Nehru Park was inaugurated on Sunday, 14th May by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palanisamy and the central Minister Venkaiah Naidu.
Tamil Nadu chief minister E. Palanisamy and the central minister Venkaiah Naidu has inaugurated the public service of the Chennai Metro Rail section between Thirumangalam and Nehru Park.
The Chennai Metro Rail project authorities have announced that the public service for the section between Koyambedu and Nehru Park, covering a distance of 7.4 km, will commence from tomorrow (Sunday, 14th May).
