The Indian Railway Safety Commissioner is scheduled to conduct the testing of the Chennai Metro Rail Project underground section between Koyambedu and Nehru Park by the end of this month.
With the main goal of reducing the high traffic congestion in Chennai Metro City, The ambitious Chennai Metro Project has been taken in 2 corridors covering a distance of 45 km.
It has been announced that the underground tunnel track work of the Chennai Metro Rail Project in the section between Nehru Nagar and Thirumangalam stations is completed. This will be opened for public service in 2 months.

To travel in Chennai Metro Rail one has to purchase ticket fare token. The token will be issued after you pay the cost for the required destination. You will be allowed to enter the railway station after you drop the token.
